Boards can be created without knowing content ahead of time. In fact, they can be created in conversation with attendees in the form of a listening board. It is very helpful to have a teammate ask questions, take notes and we can illustrate their answers. Or we can have a large single question written on the board: What were your takeaways?
Several sessions could be on one board or smaller boards. There really is no limit.
Santa Monica Listening Wall - The tourism arm, Visit Santa Monica, conducted a listening session at a wellfair at Santa Monica City College. We asked people about their favorite spots, their favorite local businesses, and what could be done to improve the city. This wall was reassembled at other events for decision-making bodies.
Pen and poster created images can be digitalized to share in communications and social media.
Trade Show Listening Wall: We asked conference attendees what their biggest takeaways were from sessions. This image was digitalized and shared later in emails and event recaps.
Charter School Anniversary: A prominent charter school asked attendees, students, staff, and donors what the school meant to them. In the shot above, you can see a student success story was thrilled to see his words illustrated!
